Enrique: Barca tremendously clinical

Luis Enrique hailed his Barcelona side for being “tremendously clinical” in their 8-0 drubbing of Deportivo La Coruna on Wednesday.

Barca returned to winning ways after a three-game losing streak – and in some style – as Luis Suarez scored four goals and Lionel Messi, Neymar and Marc Bartra helped themselves to one each to keep the Catalans atop La Liga by the virtue of head-to-head superiority.

“We played more or less the same as we did against Valencia, but this time around we’ve been tremendously clinical,” the Coach said after the game.

“Indeed, we may have created the same number of chances as [against Valencia].

“It’s a spectacular result for us, and the challenge is there for everyone who believes in it.

“The need for a good result and a victory was key for us. To win the League, you have to be the best team over 38 games, not 34, 10 or 37. It’ll be difficult, for sure.

“We played with very good balance, although Depor perhaps weren’t the same as they were in the first match [in December].

“We didn’t need [Sergio] Busi, but we did very well on the wings.

“We moved the ball around well in the attacking half and Leo created superiority for us as always. We got on top early.

“[On whether Barca deserved credit for their win over Depor being poor], you always deserve to win games.”
