Navas: Madrid can go all the way

Keylor Navas believes Real Madrid “can go all the way” this season after Saturday’s 5-1 victory over Getafe in La Liga.

The ‘BBC’ all got on the scoresheet as Madrid moved to within just a point of League leaders Barcelona, but their win was aided by an important save from Navas to keep out an indirect free kick, and the goalkeeper reflected on his side’s performance after the game.

“I thank God that we won, [to have done so] was the most important thing,” he said.

“It was a game we were very solid in defensively, but the most important thing is that the team won and things went well.

“We were very serious in our approach, and I’ve always said that we won’t lower our arms in the League.

“We’re close [to the end of the season] and we know we can go all the way with the chance [of winning titles] if we do our job well.

“I always try to work hard and had to get off my line quickly for the indirect free kick.

“The team feel good, we’re happy to be in the semi-finals and we respect our opponents.

“We’ve got this far for a reason, and of course we’ll try to go through.

“We must never lose faith and always go forward. We must win our remaining games and fight for the trophies on offer.

“Sometimes we tend to relax after a Champions League game, but the team are aware of what they’re playing for.

“This is what we want, and we’re very happy with today’s work.”
