Unai Emery sees the Europa League quarter-final second leg with Athletic Bilbao as a ‘great opportunity’ for Sevilla but stressed the need to focus.
Sevilla lead 2-1 from the first leg, played at San Mames, and are 90 minutes from the semi-finals, having claimed the trophy in each of the last two years.
“We have the opportunity to experience a great time with our fans. This competition gives us a new opportunity to play a quarter-final in front of our fans in our stadium,” he acknowledged at a pre-match Press conference, AS reports.
“The first leg result gives us an advantage but we are prepared for any adverse circumstances and to give continuity to what we did in the first leg.
“Overconfidence isn’t the message we’re giving. We don’t believe it’s all done. We want to continue on from San Mames. At no time have we reached the limit of overconfidence. It’s such an important moment that we don’t think about anything other than competing at 100%.”
