Madrid lead UEFA coefficients

Real Madrid lead the UEFA coefficient ranking for clubs ahead of Friday’s Champions League quarter-final draw in Nyon.

Los Blancos’ presence in the quarter-finals for a sixth straight season sees them top the list with 153,435 points, ahead of reigning champions Barcelona (152,542) and fellow rivals Atletico Madrid (133,542).

Madrid have topped the UEFA ranking since 2013-14, when they lifted a historic 10th European cup, affectionately known as La Decima.

Joining Madrid in the top five are Bayern Munich, in second with 153,435 points, and bottom-placed Chelsea (135,781) – despite the Blues’ crashing out at the last-16 stage for successive campaigns.

The draw for the last eight will be made at 11:00 GMT, while Villarreal, Athletic Bilbao and holders Sevilla await the Europa League equivalent, scheduled an hour later.
