Rubi ready to drop underperformers

Rubi has warned his Levante players that he will not hesitate to drop anyone if they are not “fighting to the fullest”.

Levante travel to Real Sociedad on Sunday after two straight defeats, which have left the team bottom of La Liga, six points adrift of safety with only 11 games remaining, and the Coach admitted he was concerned his side had stopped raising the bar in their performances.

“It’s a very important game,” he said at a Press conference.

“There’s a lot at stake and La Real are doing very well, playing good football, so what we have to do is reduce errors, both at the back and up top.

“I’m not worried that the players can’t maintain their levels, rather that they’re not raising them.

“Our dynamic must be to fight to the fullest, and whoever can’t play like this will have to give way to a teammate.

“With the players we have in attack, we must be more effective [in front of goal], and we can’t give much away at the back.

“The feeling of discouragement doesn’t lead you anywhere. I won’t drop my head and I’ll make sure none of the players will.”
