Emery: Getafe a small final

Unai Emery admits Sevilla’s trip to Getafe in La Liga on Saturday “really is a small final” as he retains slight faith in catching Villarreal.

The Andalucians have yet to win away from home in the League this season and lie nine points behind the Yellow Submarine with 11 games remaining, and the Coach conceded his side could forget about the Champions League if their funk continued at Coliseum Alfonso Perez.

“If, by the end of the season, we’ve won a lot of games, we’ll have possibilities,” he said at a Press conference.

“If we lose a lot of games, we’ll have none. That’s the reality. I once finished third with 63 points and fifth with 76.

“[Villarreal] are having a very good season and we have a long way to go in order to overcome them, but if we don’t win many more games, we’re not going to finish near them.

“For now, I’m just thinking about winning [on Saturday].

“Getafe really is a small final, which challenges us, motivates us and excites us.

“It’s game in which we can show our growth and sustain our credibility.

“We want to keep our dreams alive in every game and Saturday is a chance [to do that].

“We want to win, and we’re excited about showing the many qualities we have.”
