LFP denounces Atleti & Malaga chants

La Liga has informed Spain’s Anti-Violence Commission of offensive chanting during Real Madrid-Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad-Malaga over the weekend.

According to a report from the country’s Professional Football League (LFP), around 1,500 Los Blancos fans were heard chanting insults about Diego Simeone just six minutes into the game at the Santiago Bernabeu after they had made themselves identifiable by displaying the banner, ‘Fans RMCF’.

The LFP also indicated that on 16 minutes, the same group of fans targeted the visiting support with more explicit chanting, before repeating themselves in the 48th and 72nd minute.

Elsewhere, the League body stated a group of 50 Real Sociedad fans had referred to Malaga in a derogatory manner just shy of an hour at Anoeta.

Nonetheless, the LFP stressed the misconduct was limited to the select few fans named in the report and commended the respective majorities for their “absolutely correct” behaviour.
