Mehdi Lacen heavily criticised his own team after Getafe’s thrashing at Las Palmas. ‘We have to realise we’re really bad as a team.’
El Geta were hammered 4-0 by the island outfit and after the match, Lacen issued a wake-up call that unless something changed, the team was bound for relegation.
“We have to realise we’re really bad as a team. If we continue like this we’ll be in the Segunda,” he warned, AS reports.
“We’ve had a lot of consecutive games where we haven’t scored and we’ve conceded a lot of goals. Now we have a final on Saturday against Sevilla.
“We can only apologise to the fans. We are to blame and we have to face up to it.
“We don’t attack, we don’t defend and we don’t move in midfield. We don’t play well, but we have to have faith. We’ve been in similar situations.
“Sevilla? Any game is complicated, but in this situation it doesn’t matter whether it is Sevilla or Alcorcon. We have to win.”
