Gonzalez: Granada good enough

Jose Gonzalez believes Granada have what it takes to implement his pass-and-move style ahead of Sunday’s trip to Deportivo La Coruna in La Liga.

Gonzalez was named Jose Ramon Sandoval’s successor on Tuesday, with the Andalucians rooted to the bottom of the table, four points adrift of safety, but the Coach is encouraged by what he has seen from the team in his first few days at the helm.

“The players have cooperated a lot in our first training sessions together,” he said at a Press conference.

“We must play together to attack and defend. We’re good enough to play the ball short and exploit spaces.

“The players are very focused. I want a team who play together in attack and defence.

“I’ve found the players to be in a very good way and some basic concepts have been assimilated. I hope [these assimilations] take effect.

“I think I need to see the players more to pass judgment on them, but I’m already convinced that there’s a good squad here and, above all, involvement.

“I think every game is important because the end the season is decided by small details.”
