Marcelino wary of Levante ‘demands’

Marcelino has warned Villarreal that Levante “will demand a lot” of them on Sunday but insists his side are aware of the threat their opponents possess.

The Yellow Submarine host the Valencians knowing that a win would move them to within two points of third-placed Real Madrid, who lost at home to Atletico Madrid a day earlier, in La Liga, but the Coach reminded his players of their opening-day defeat at Ciutat de Valencia.

“They’ll demand a lot of us and we know it,” he said at a Press conference.

“They beat us in the first half of the season and we know what they’re capable of.

“Therefore, we’ll have a difficult game and one that we’ll suffer in.

“[Levante] are in a different dynamic now [referring to their January signings]. They won 3-0 at Getafe in a very good match.

"We’re tired from [Thursday]. We were worse [on Friday], but we’ll see how we are in training and [on Sunday].

“The game was already difficult, but it’s been made even more so after the wearing-down we took against Napoli.

“We must face this match with maximum attitude. For us, this match is as important as the one at Napoli, if not more so.

“Despite our fatigue, we’ll try to do things in the best way.”
