Marcelo Diaz believes he made “a very good decision” to join Celta Vigo last month after Saturday’s 3-2 victory over Eibar in La Liga.
Diaz swapped Hamburg for Celta in middle of January but did not make his debut until the start of February due to a hamstring injury, but he completed his first 90 minutes over the weekend against Eibar, and he is confident of a fruitful spell at Balaidos.
“I really like the football played in Spain, especially at Celta,” the Chilean midfielder said after the game.
“I hope [my good start] continues and that I achieve many things with this club. Coming here was a very good decision.
“I hope to regain my shape as soon as possible, and for that I need to train hard and play many games.
“I can’t say how much more [training and games] I need to be at my best, but physically I’m at 70 percent.
“We want to be strong at home and [on Saturday] we took a step forward.
“It’s shame about the last 10 minutes because we controlled the game, but luckily we ended up winning the match and that’s left us very happy.”
