Modric vows to ‘shoot more’

Luka Modric has vowed to shoot more after his wonder strike in Real Madrid’s 2-1 win at Granada on Sunday.

Los Blancos were seemingly heading for a draw in Andalucia, until the midfielder fired home a long-range effort with only five minutes remaining, and he feels he is bearing the fruits of a “much-better” physical shape.

“We can still improve in both attack and defence, but physically we’re much better than before.

“We can’t expect to win every game 5-0 or 6-0, especially away from home.

“It’s not easy to play away. We had many chances and didn’t score, but in the end, we won and got the three points.

“I feel good. I’m much better now physically and when I’m like this, I can do things the Coach asks me.

“I don’t know if this is the best spell of my career, but I try to give everything in every game.

“The Coach told me [before the game] I should shoot more. I’m very happy for the goal and victory.”
