Aduriz ‘flattered’ by Spain interest

Athletic Bilbao striker Aritz Aduriz has admitted that he is “flattered” by Spain boss Vicente del Bosque’s recent appraisal of his performances.

The striker upped his tally for the season to 25 after another two goals in Los Leones’ 5-2 victory over Eibar, and he was delighted to have earned the praise of the Coach, with Euro 2016 edging ever closer.

“[Del Bosque’s words] were flattering,” he said after the game.

“It’s a compliment to me that Vicente del Bosque, who I appreciate as a person and Coach, acknowledges me.

“[On the goals he scored], they came from two great crosses.

“It was a good match against disciplined opponents, who can make life difficult for anyone, and a very important reaction.

“We believed in ourselves and applied a lot of intensity in the game.

“We’re going to Camp Nou to have a good game and play with all the enthusiasm in the world.”
