Berizzo: Attack our best defence

Eduardo Berizzo believes attack will be the best defence when Celta Vigo travel to Rayo Vallecano in La Liga on Saturday.

The Galicians have won just seven of their last 27 meetings with Los Vallecanos, including only three away victories in that time, and the Coach urged his side to get on the front foot as soon as possible or risk being “pegged back”.

“Our objective is to win the next game,” he said at a Press conference.

“I expect a very tough match against opponents who need the points. Historically, [trips to Vallecas] have not been ideal for us.

“We’re at a place in the table where you can only stay there by playing football and knowing you must go to venues like these.

“The table, at the moment, forces us to play seriously and pick up points, and also to ensure everyone feels important.

“[Rayo] are a pressing team, who believe in what they do. They seem to play in the same style as us.

“They’re a mobile team, with surprising and unconventional movement at times.

“They like to build play from their goalkeeper. The challenge is to stop, if not the first, the second or third ball.

“If we don’t do that, we’ll be pegged back.”

Celta’s opponents Rayo, meanwhile, have signed Armenia winger Aras Ozbiliz from Besiktas on loan until the end of the season.
