Rafa Benitez has claimed that Real Madrid “are better than people think” ahead of Saturday’s match against Getafe in La Liga.
Los Blancos have bounced back from their Clasico humbling with three successive wins, despite their 3-1 victory over Cadiz in the Copa del Rey being overshadowed by Denis Cheryshev’s apparent ineligibility, and the Coach believes his side have not been given the credit they deserve.
“The President has made [our stance] clear,” he said at a Press conference.
“It’s the truth and there’s nothing more to say on our part. [These issues] will be discussed at the next safe date.
“Coming to the best club in the world, I know there is more attention to every detail, but I also know what the situation is and I’m clear on how will I do things.
“I’ll keep working hard and I’m focused on doing my best. We’re a great team and we can do great things.
“From everything we’ve seen, [Getafe] are an organised team.
“For us, it’s important to get organised as soon as possible, that the players understand the way we play and that it won’t be an easy match.
“We’ve achieved three consecutive victories after the defeat to Barcelona.
“There’s a long way to go, but we’re in pretty good shape, better than people think.
“[On Gerard Pique], I’m a professional and I won’t go into assessments [of other professionals].”
