Rubi wants ‘stubborn’ Levante

Rubi hopes his Levante side continue to be ‘stubborn’ but warned of the danger Real Betis pose when they’re away from home.

The sides meet on Friday at Levante’s Ciutat de Valencia and after a commanding win over Sporting Gijon, the Coach wants to see similar from Les Granotes.

“If we’re lucky enough to keep doing well, teams will take notice and it will get more difficult,” he warned, Estadio Deportivo reports.

“We’ve had three good games and I’ve talked to the players so that we’re stubborn and don’t lower our level. Hopefully we extend our run with a good game, but one day we’ll have a bad one.”

Regarding Betis, Rubi noted Pepe Mel’s side have a better record on their travels than at their Benito Villamarin home, and explained why he thought that might be.

“They’re one of the four or five best teams away from home. They’ve won three games out of six and only lost one,” he pointed out.

“This is a very dangerous team away from home. They have players such as Joaquin or Ruben Castro who have a very high level. They can counter-attack quickly or build-up because they have players of a very good technical level.”
