Jemez ‘wanted to take off four players’

Paco Jemez criticised Rayo Vallecano’s first half display at Getafe after making a substitution before half time. ‘If I could have removed three or four…’

The game was goalless at the break but Jemez confirmed to reporters after the final whistle that he wasn’t happy, having introduced Patrick Ebert before the interval, the match eventually finishing 1-1.

“I was trying to find something we didn’t have. If I could have changed three or four, I would have. Something had to be done and I went for Ebert, a dynamic player, to do something different,” Jemez said, Marca reports.

“We were better in the second half, after the goal, but we can’t throw away 45 minutes. We need to have the ball more and the days we don’t, it costs us.

“In the first half I didn’t see a team that could play. In the second, I did.”
