Suarez frustrated with referee

Barcelona forward Luis Suarez vented his frustration with referee Carlos del Cerro Grande’s failure to punish Eibar accordingly on Sunday.

Suarez’s hat-trick in a 3-1 victory for Barca was overshadowed by the official’s perceived leniency towards Eibar, exacerbated by Javier Mascherano’s late red card, leaving the No 9 with a sense of injustice after the game.

“It was a special match because it came a year after my debut,” he said.

“We won a difficult game but started off on a losing foot again, and that’s something we need to look at.

“[On finding it easy to score], we had the Zamora [goalkeeper with the lowest goals-to-games ratio] last season. These [goal] streaks happen.

“I don’t know what happened [regarding Javier Mascherano’s red card].

“We got the feeling that [Eibar] were fouling us but weren’t being shown any cards.

“[On the Clasico corruption claims], it’s nothing to do with us.”
