Marcelino lamented a potential relapse of Cedric Bakambu’s ankle injury following Villarreal 4-0 victory over Dinamo Minsk in the Europa League on Thursday.
The forward marked the second game into his comeback from a month-long layoff with two goals in the first half against the Belarussians, only to be replaced at the break with a suspected knock.
“I’m pleased and satisfied with the work done by the team,” the Coach said after the game.
“We had a very good game, in which we were solid, patient and played very well for achieving the lead.
“[In the second half], we were very comfortable and remained in total control.
“[On ending back-to-back defeats, EL and La Liga] are different competitions, but it’s good that we improved and the team recovered their feelings.
“[My only complaint is that] we’re continuing to accumulate damage or problems to our players and they’re weighing the team down.
“[Bakambu] was hit on the same ankle as the one which was injured a few weeks ago.
“We’re well-positioned [in both competitions], but we must go game by game and seek victory in our next game.”
