Escriba planning Getafe evolution

Fran Escriba has revealed that he plans to make his Getafe side more expansive following Sunday’s 4-0 thrashing of Las Palmas in La Liga.

In the same vein as Alvaro Vazquez against Levante three weeks ago, Stefan Scepovic came off the substitutes’ bench to score a late brace, and the Coach admits it is only a matter of time before he plays both strikers together.

“We scored two early goals, controlled the first half and were quite comfortable in the second,” he said after the game.

“I always demand a balanced team and we’re increasingly becoming one.

“I’ve always said, particularly when there was talk about the team not scoring, that I care more about us not conceding.

“I think we’re starting from a solid defence, with three wins and no goals conceded, and that’s how I’ll get what I want from this team.

“I don’t want the players to think they had to beat [Las Palmas] because we have two great clubs coming up.

“We can lose, but I want us to have the mentality of playing well against them both.

“[Vazquez and Scepovic] have both scored goals after coming off the bench, but neither have told me that they want to leave the bench.

“They’re compatible with each other will play together someday.

“That competition in attack and other places will come in handy. Emi [Buendia] also came off the bench and changed a lot of things [for the better].

“I’m working to gain the fans’ trust through my philosophy, which is that the team get better each week, leave everything on the pitch and win games.”
