Emery: Draw is what it is

Unai Emery conceded Sevilla’s 1-1 draw with Eibar in La Liga on Saturday “wasn’t good, but it is what it is”.

The Andalucians failed to build on their win against Barcelona last time out as Kevin Gameiro rescued them a point after Borja Baston had given Los Armeros the lead early doors, but the Coach drew positives from his side’s abillity to turn around a losing situation.

“I’m proud of the team, although we couldn’t find the game we wanted in the first half,” he said after the game.

“The goal was to Eibar’s credit and we had to remain patient against a tough opponent.

“We matured as the match went on and had chances to win, our equaliser aside.

“Our mentality in overcoming [going a goal down] was good. The result wasn’t good, but it is what it is.

“The team responded after the break by adopting a desire to improve our game and changing our mentality to move forward.

“[On four penalty shouts being ignored], we’re not having any luck with the referees, and the lads felt indignation in the dressing room for some of the decisions.

“We had four penalties in four games which haven’t been blown for, and [on Saturday] we had four possible penalties.”
