The draw has been made for the Copa del Rey last 32, which sees La Liga clubs enter the competition for the first time this season.

Barcelona kick off their trophy defence against Segunda B side Villanovense, while Real Madrid face fellow third-tier outfit Cadiz, Los Blancos’ League rivals in 2005-06.

Elsewhere, there are four all-Primera ties, namely Real Betis-Sporting Gijon, Levante-Espanyol, Las Palmas-Real Sociedad and Rayo Vallecano-Getafe.

The first legs will be played on December 2, with the return fixtures a fortnight later.

However, Barca’s Club World Cup commitments mean they will play their tie over October 28 and December 2.
