Ter Stegen: I won’t change

Marc-Andre ter Stegen insists he will not abandon his sweeper-keeper tendencies after making another error in Barcelona’s 4-1 victory over Levante.

The goalkeeper came under fire for being lobbed by Alessandro Florenzi from the halfway line in La Blaugrana’s 1-1 draw with Roma last week, and he appeared to be at fault for Levante’s consolation effort on Sunday as he misjudged a cross, which Victor Casadesus swept up.

“[Levante’s goal came from] defensive confusion,” he told Movistar+.

“I’m not thinking about [what happened in] Rome or my place in the team. It’s your [journalists] job to think and talk about it.

“Of course [I’ll continue playing the way I do]. Why do I have to change? Everything’s going well.”
