Alves to return against Levante?

Dani Alves will reportedly make his Barcelona comeback this weekend as he is set to be named in Luis Enrique’s squad for Sunday’s visit of Levante.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the right-back – who has been sidelined since suffering a hamstring injury against Athletic Bilbao on August 23 – pulled through Friday’s training session unscathed and played in the subsequent practice match.

As a result, with Barca’s squad decimated in light of Thomas Vermaelen and Rafinha’s recent setbacks, the newspaper claims Alves will return a week sooner than expected for the visit of Levante.

‘B’ starlet Gerard Gumbau also trained with the first team on Friday and is likely to get the nod in Rafinha’s absence, with neither Aleix Vidal nor Arda Turan registered due to La Blaugrana’s FIFA-imposed transfer ban.
