Ramos vows to return ‘stronger’

Sergio Ramos says he will come back stronger after it was confirmed the Real Madrid captain had dislocated his shoulder.

Ramos was injured in Los Blancos’ win over Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday night, suffering a heavy fall when he was challenged by Taras Stepanenko.

Stepanenko was shown a second yellow card for the foul and Ramos was replaced by Nacho shortly after, Raphael Varane having gone off at half time with a knock and Pepe replacing him.

Gareth Bale was also injured in the 4-0 victory, suffering a calf problem the extent of which will be discovered on Thursday.

“Whatever happens, always with a smile. A stop to come back stronger,” Ramos wrote on Twitter under a picture in which his shoulder was heavily strapped.

AS notes a dislocated shoulder is likely to see Ramos out for 10 days, meaning his realistic return is against Athletic Bilbao on September 23.

Varane should be ready to play Granada on Saturday, AS note.
