Girona in City link-up?

Segunda side Girona are reportedly on the verge of finalising a partnership agreement with Manchester City.

According to Marca, the deal is being brokered by Pep Guardiola’s brother Pere, a leading agent who is also fronting the Catalans’ takeover by French company TV Sport Events.

The agreement would primarily see City sending a number of youngsters to Girona on loan in a bid to aid their development with gain first-team experience.

The newspaper also understands that the Premier League giants would purchase Florian Lejeune and Ruben Sobrino, loanees who starred for Girona last season, before transferring them back on temporary arrangements.

Girona would become the fourth club to establish links with City after New York City, Melbourne City and Yokohama Marinos.
