Dani Parejo has demanded Valencia fans to turn Mestalla “into a pressure cooker” when they host Monaco in the Champions League playoffs.
Los Che were dealt no favours during Friday’s draw in Nyon, with last season’s quarter-finalists standing in their way of the group stage and the first leg being played on home soil.
“We ask the fans to fill Mestalla and turn it into a pressure cooker,” the captain told reporters.
“[The playoff] is our reward for last season and we’ll be in the group stage if it all goes well.
“Many teams prefer to play the second leg at home because it seems to favour them, but there’s no getting around the draw. Sometimes you do better, others worse.
“We’d have taken this tie [last season] if it was given to us. We earned these two games thanks to everything we did last season.
“We played [Monaco] during pre-season last year. We must try to take the tie to them and start the season in the best way possible.”
