Paris Saint-Germain President Nasser Al-Khelaifi has insisted that Atletico Madrid target Thiago Motta will not leave the club this month.
The Italy international recently announced his desire to quit Parc des Princes for a return to Los Colchoneros, who are in the market for a new defensive midfielder following Mario Suarez’s departure to Fiorentina, but the patron has made it clear that the player will honour the final year of his contract.
“[Thiago] has a contract with us for another year, he stays,” he said at Angel Di Maria’s presentation on Thursday.
Motta was not involved in PSG’s 2-0 victory over Lyon in the French Super Cup last Sunday, with Coach Laurent Blanc admitting the 32-year-old was not in the right frame of mind for the match.
