Vallejo to Madrid today?

Real Madrid and Real Zaragoza want to conclude Jesus Vallejo’s move to Santiago Bernabeu soon, possibly on Thursday, it’s reported.

AS notes the transfer, worth either €5.5m or €6m, will see the 18-year-old captain of the Spain Under-19s, loaned back to Zaragoza for the coming season.

Should Zaragoza be promoted from the Segunda this year they will have the obligation to re-sign the centre-back for €7m.

Madrid would then hold a first option of Vallejo, giving them the chance to buy him back in future.

Zaragoza are said to want a full €6m for the player but Madrid are offering €4.5m and €1m in bonuses, to be triggered if Vallejo makes 20 appearances next season and is called into the Spain Under-21s.

A quarter of the fee Zaragoza receive for Vallejo will go to the Treasury as part of the club’s tax agreement and the rest will enable Zaragoza to raise their salary cap.
