New Barcelona signings Arda Turan and Aleix Vidal say they will wait for however long it takes in order to play for the club.
Both men arrived at Camp Nou this summer in the knowledge that they would not be able to make their competitive debuts until January, owing to the Spanish champions’ ongoing transfer embargo.
However, the Blaugrana have now been told that their new acquisitions will not be able to take part in friendlies either, meaning the duo will be on the sidelines until after the New Year.
“For Barca, we will wait for however long it takes,” Turan and Vidal are quoted as saying by Mundo Deportivo.
“If it is confirmed about the friendlies, it will be more difficult, but hopefully it will come to nothing,” Vidal had said before FIFA’s decision was revealed.
“Firstly, I need to try to help (the team) from off the pitch and then later I will do it on the pitch.”
