Madrid miss out on Llorente?

Real Madrid’s hopes of launching a late bid for Fernando Llorente have been dealt a blow as the Juventus striker is set to join Monaco.

Los Blancos understood to be on the lookout for attacking reinforcements, and AS reports Los Blancos were ready to launch an 11th-hour bid for the Spaniard.

However, the newspaper claims it has received assurances that Madrid’s interest will not sway the former Athletic Bilbao man’s thinking as negotiations with the Principality outfit are at an advanced stage.

Monaco are too in need of new forwards, having already lost Dimitar Berbatov, while Radamel Falcao is believed to be closing in on a move to Chelsea.
