Alba: I wouldn’t join Madrid

Jordi Alba has responded to the Sergio Ramos-Barcelona controversy by claiming “I wouldn’t sign for Real Madrid”.

Barca presidential candidate Jordi Majo revealed last week that he had been offered the defender, only for his camp to quickly rubbish the speculation, and the left-back admits he can understand his rival’s stance.

“I wouldn’t sign for Real Madrid,” he said at the opening of the Hospitalet Centre stadium.

“[On the four-match ban given to Neymar at Copa America] I think that the punishment for Neymar is unfair.

“His opponents sought him a lot. He has a lot of patience. I’d have exploded before he did!

“I hope [Martin Montoya, Pedro Rodriguez and Marc Bartra] stay at Barca next season.”
