Rafinha: ‘We can make it to Berlin’

Defender Rafinha believes Bayern Munich can get the goals against Barcelona that can propel them to the Champions League final.

The Bundesliga outfit go into Tuesday’s semi-final second leg clash with Barca at the Allianz Arena hoping to overturn a 3-0 deficit, yet the Brazil international feels his team can still produce a great performance against Luis Enrique’s men.

“For 77 minutes last week we played very well, defended very well, but after that we made some mistakes and paid for it,” Rafinha told a Press conference.

“Now we are going to try and score three or four goals and perhaps we will even have to take it to extra time.

“We didn’t expect to be three goals down at this stage, but we have another game and when we are at home we’ve shown we can score a lot of goals.

“Against players like Barca have you take a risk by playing with just three at the back, but we’ll do what the Coach says. It’s the small details that decided matches like these.”

Rafinha acknowledged that the Germans will need to find a way to stop Lionel Messi.

“Everyone knows how good Messi is. Of course we want to stop him but a player like that can decide games on his own.

“But we are talking about Barcelona, not just Messi. They have a great team. You’ve only got to think of Luis Suarez.”
