Ibra: ‘I wanted to join Madrid’

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has revealed that he told Barcelona he wanted to join eternal rivals Real Madrid during his time at the club.

The Swede, writing in his autobiography, claims he asked then Barca President Sandro Rosell to allow him to join Jose Mourinho at the Santiago Bernabeu, but was given a firm refusal.

“I want to join Real Madrid,” Ibrahimovic told Rosell, who “went white” before saying that he would allow “any option but that one. That will not be possible,” he explained.

“You have asked me a question and I’m giving you an answer. Real Madrid are the only team where I can see myself playing.

“I like Mourinho but you need to call and tell them,” he is alleged to have told the President.

The current Paris Saint-Germain striker had already worked with Mourinho when the pair were at Inter Milan.
