Jordi Alba says that Luis Suarez’s signing by Barcelona from Liverpool at the start of this season has been great for the club.
The Uruguayan was on target twice in Wednesday’s 3-1 Champions League quarter-final victory over Paris Saint-Germain and Alba praised his contribution.
“Luis Suarez is not only great in attack but he also works really hard. He’s been a great signing for us,” he told Onda Cero.
“Tonight we controlled a great part of the match and although we are on our way the tie is still not over.
“We brought the ball out of defence well, created chances and had a lot of possession.”
Alba also went on to have words of praise for veteran midfielder Xavi Hernandez.
“Xavi brings a lot to the team, not only when he is on the pitch, but when he does play he’s spectacular.”
