Marcelino vows Villarreal fight

Marcelino has promised Villarreal will fight for their Europa League future despite trailing Sevilla 3-1 from the first leg.

The sides meet tonight in the return bout at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan with the Coach banned from the touchline and he admitted at a pre-match Press conference that the odds are against his side.

“We have 90 minutes of options to go through and we will fight for something that is very complicated,” Marcelino said, AS reports.

“I hope we give our highest level and not hide behind any circumstances that you can’t fight in football. Talking about injuries would be too easy to rely on to justify our elimination.

“If we’re knocked out I’d like Sevilla to go on and win [the Europa League]. I have a very good relationship with a lot of people at the club and besides, it would mean there is another Spanish team in the Champions League.”
