Alcaraz: I’m waiting for Madrid job!

Lucas Alcaraz has joked that he is waiting for the Real Madrid job following Levante’s hard-fought 2-1 victory over Eibar in La Liga on Friday.

Saul Berjon’s goal just before the hour mark gave the Valencians a mountain to climb with just over a third of the match remaining, but a quick-fire double from David Barral and Kalu Uche 10 minutes later made it three consecutive wins on home soil for their side.

“These are matches in which you suffer and can only be decided with great effort,” the Coach said after the game.

“That’s life for teams fighting down the bottom of the table, where there’s more pain than joy and the joys come from suffering.

“I’m waiting for an offer from Real Madrid so I don’t have to suffer so much every game!

"When the season reaches its advanced stages, the teams fighting for an objective [like ours] create a mixture of fear, spirit and character, rather than excitement, which is overlapped by the football.

“We had a good first half but then lacked continuity in the second half. However, we were able to raise our game once we made changes.”
