Sevilla and Villarreal will take each other on in the Europa League last 16 after both clubs were paired together during Friday’s draw in Nyon.
In what is an all-Spanish tie – the second to involve teams from the same country, along with Roma-Fiorentina – the Andalucians beat Borussia Monchengladbach 4-2 over two legs to stay in with a chance of defending their crown.
The Yellow Submarine, meanwhile, defeated Red Bull Salzburg 5-2 on aggregate to reach their first European knockouts since 2011, when they reached the Europa League semi-finals, only to be eliminated by eventual winners Porto.
The first legs will be played on March 12, with the return legs scheduled a week later.
