‘Barca have right mentality’

Rafinha has warned Barcelona’s rivals that his side possess ‘the right mentality’ to challenge on all fronts this season.

Despite their apparent problems behind the scenes, La Blaugrana are in the midst of a three-way battle for La Liga, due to rematch with Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals next week and will face Manchester City in the Champions League last 16 next month.

We’re a very good team, who play with confidence and train hard to show that we can fight for everything,” the midfielder was quoted as saying by AS.

“We knew we’d face super-tough opponents [Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals].

“To be champions you have to beat the best, and we have the right mentality to compete on all fronts.

“People who get fewer minutes must seize the opportunities they’re given so they can find rhythm and fulfilment.

“I just get on with my work. I’m very happy with the Coach’s words, and I want to continue improving and helping the team.

“I’ve spent three years with [Luis Enrique], I know him very well and he also knows me.

“If I was still at Celta, it would be a special and important game for me, but it’s not so much at Barca.”
