Getafe boss Cosmin Contra is set to leave the club after the Christmas break for Chinese Super League outfit Guangzhou R & F, reports AS.
The newspaper claims a deal has been completed for a fee of €1.5m, while the Rumanian Coach will reportedly receive a salary of €2m per year net along with a potential bonus of €1m if he meets the Chinese club’s objectives.
Apart from securing Contra’s signature, Guangzhou R & F have also signed midfielder Michel for €1m, who has been on loan at the Madrid club from Valencia this season, and he will join up with Contra in January.
Zhang Li, the owner of Guangzhou R & F, has made his fortune in the property market and reports in the Chinese media have it that he could make a bid for Getafe, with President Angel Torres having already stated his desire to sell the club.
Everything suggests Getafe’s away match at Granada on Sunday could be Contra’s final game on the bench for the Madrid outfit.
