Cosmin Contra is targeting a long run in this year’s Copa del Rey, with Eibar the opposition on Friday night.
The Basques go to Coliseum Alfonso Perez in the first leg and Contra has told his pre-match Press conference that he wants to maintain his good Cup record.
“No matter the opponent we can progress. I’m very attracted to the Cup. I won it in Romania as a Coach. I want to go as far as possible,” he recalled, AS reports.
“Having had two straight defeats the most important thing is to win and get a good feeling.
We have a League match 48 hours later.
“We will try to play well, score more than a goal or two and be attentive from the first minute.
“It’s a competition I did well in as a player and a Coach. I’m very excited to go forward. If we play a stronger team we’ll see what we can do.”
