Gaizka Garitano believes Eibar’s performance at Malaga warranted a point after a late penalty condemned the Basques to defeat.
Mikel Arruabaena put Eibar in front at half-time but Juanmi levelled after the break and Nordin Amrabat’s spot kick eventually gave victory to Malaga.
“We ought have taken at least one point. Our play merited that,” Garitano said, AS reports.
“Malaga are on a very good run. We ran into a tough opponent and in the end it was our failure that gave them the win.
“The final calculations don’t say we were an inferior opponent.”
