Javi Gracia admitted Malaga had to dig deep to see off Eibar and believes the support of the fans played a pivotal role.
Eibar took the lead through Mikel Arruabarrena but second half goals from Juanmi and a late Nordin Amrabat penalty delivered a fifth straight win for Gracia’s side.
“It was a difficult game. There were two important things - there are players who haven’t been involved but helped the team and second, the response of the fans after Eibar’s goal, when they applauded us,” Gracia said, AS reports.
“We had perseverance and dedication, and it’s true the opponent has won points. They’re having a great season.
“But it’s important we had the support of our fans until the very end.
“We look forward rather than back. We’ll rest this week with a win and our position in the table allows us to relax and enjoy the moment.
“Our challenge is to get the next win and of course we’ll go for the sixth in a row.”
