Garitano banking on Eibar support

Gaizka Garitano believes Eibar need a full ground to stand any chance of surviving in the Primera, starting against Deportivo La Coruna.

Eibar host Deportivo tonight, their first return to Ipurua since the opening round win over neighbours Real Sociedad.

Garitano told his pre-match Press conference that the support of the fans is crucial to his side and, if it’s not there, Eibar have little hope.

“If we don’t have a full Ipurua and increase the pressure as if it was a final, the League will be even more complicated than people think,” the Coach said, according to Marca.

“People on the street tell me Eibar will easily stay up. They’re not aware of the difficulties. The League allows for few jokes.

“If Ipurua is only half full then people make mistakes. Deportivo is a final for us. I worry that people think it’s simpler than playing the Madrid clubs.

“They are a good team and have signed good players, international players, and an experienced Coach.

“We need to give our best, start with intensity and if we don’t keep up the pressure, we’re a weak team.”
