Chiellini: Revise Suarez’s ban

Giorgio Chiellini has again come to the defence of Luis Suarez, asking for the Barcelona forward’s biting ban to be revised.

Suarez was banned for four months from all football for biting Chiellini during Uruguay’s World Cup win over Italy.

The player and the Uruguay federation are appealing the ban to the Court of Arbitration for Sport and they have received the backing of Chiellini, who feels Suarez has been harshly treated.

“I said what I thought about it even after the incident. I would like the penalty to be revised,” AS reports the Juventus defender as saying.

“No decisions depend on me but I find it exaggerated.”

Suarez moved to Barca from Liverpool after he was banned and with a hearing at CAS set for August 8, could be able to debut for his new club sooner than the current late October date.
