Neymar: Brazil are behind Spain

Barcelona forward Neymar believes the Brazil national team can learn from World Cup winners Germany and former champions Spain.

Neymar has spoken to Brazilian broadcaster Globo and part of the interview has been reported by AS.

He has criticised the Brazilian approach to training and match preparations, believing that the way Germany and Spain handle themselves is much better.

“Brazil are behind teams like Germany and Spain. We are behind. People should be mature enough to say so,” Neymar is quoted as saying.

“All training sessions [in Spain] are serious. In Brazil it’s different. We train more but sometimes without intensity. That’s how it is in Brazil.”

Neymar is still recovering from the fractured vertebrae suffered against Colombia in the World Cup semi-final. He is expected to return to Barcelona from Brazil on August 5 in a bid to be fit for the start of the League season.
