AS has reported that the Segunda fixtures between Sporting Gijon and Tenerife and Lugo and Mirandes are under investigation.
The games were played on June 7, in the last round of League fixtures of the season. The LFP is said to have reported the matches to the Judicial Police of Madrid after suspicious betting patterns.
No players in either match are specifically mentioned as part of the allegations but the betting patterns triggered alarms and UEFA is aware of the concern regarding both games.
UEFA’s own anti-corruption unit has produced a report on the Lugo-Mirandes fixture while the LFP passed on their concerns to police regarding the betting market for Sporting-Tenerife.
