Malaga boss Bernd Schuster admitted that ‘luck was on their side’ after they beat Osasuna on Monday.
The Costa del Sol outfit went to El Sadar and came away with a 2-0 win, but had to do so playing with 10 men for most of the second half after Jesus Gamez was given two bookings.
“The team didn’t lose faith and kept up the hard work,” he told a Press conference.
“Luck was definitely on our side tonight.
“We saw it coming, we warned Jesús but he couldn’t do anything.
“We played well after he was sent off, and only ran into danger from corner kicks.
“We’ve still got problems marking rival players, which we’ve had all year.
“We were lucky tonight that they didn’t convert their early chances into goals in the first half.”
