Pedro has insisted the League title has not gotten away from Barcelona after the 1-0 defeat away at Real Valladolid.

Fausto Rossi scored the only goal of the game and Atletico Madrid’s win over Celta Vigo meant Diego Simeone’s side moved second, a point clear of Barca.

Real Madrid will go three points clear of Atleti and four clear of Barca if they beat Levante at Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday but Pedro was adamant Barca are still in the title race.

“For us the League isn’t lost,” the winger told reporters after the final whistle.

“We’ll keep fighting. We had a good opportunity here and we’ve wasted it. We’re not happy but we’re looking to the future.

“We couldn’t afford not to start well but we lacked intensity and then it was difficult to react in the second half. Now we’re thinking of Manchester City.”

Pedro also echoed Xavi Hernandez’s complaints about the state of the pitch and denied Barca had gifted victory to Valladolid.

“The pitch was wrong and the ball bounced so much. But you don’t just give victory away. Valladolid earned this win. The margin for error was low but we will fight to the end.”
