Rafinha working for Barca return

Rafinha is hoping to continue as a Barcelona player once his loan at Celta Vigo ends, his father Mazinho has confirmed.

Mazinho, a Brazil international in his playing days, told Catalan radio that Rafinha is aiming to use his season at Balaidos to ready him for a future at Camp Nou.

“Rafinha is working hard to come back to Barca,” Mazinho said.

“He’s a Barca player but we don’t know what will happen in the future, if he’ll return to Barca or go out on loan again.

“But he is working hard to prepare for a future with Barca.”

Mazinho’s other son, Thiago Alcantara, left Barca for Bayern Munich in the summer and Mazinho says Thiago has no regrets over the transfer.

“Thiago is happy in Munich. He’s playing, he’s scored some goals and he’s happy.

“I’m very proud of both Rafinha and Thiago. It’s incredible to see them both so happy.”

Mazinho was part of the Brazil team that won the World Cup in 1994. His career took in the likes of Fiorentina, Valencia and Celta.
